MEDIA ADVISORY: Live Fundraising Event Involving 100 Artists to Raise $100,000

15 December — TSAS, in partnership with NYFA, is rallying 100 local artists to each create 100 specially commissioned portraits in exchange for $10 donations. The event, called ‘Pledge a Sketch: An Artists for Art Square Sketchathon’, aims to generate 10,000 original works of art and raise $100,000 in a single day in support of Art Square 2013 and NYFA’s Emergency Relief Fund established for artists impacted by Hurricane Sandy.

    Rafaël Rozendaal Selected as First Artist for 2013 Times Square Art Square Exhibition

    Times Square Art Square (TSAS) today announced Rafaël Rozendaal as the first artist commissioned for the organization’s debut event in 2013. Rozendaal will create original pieces of art to be shown on some of Times Square’s most iconic digital billboards as part of “Art Square,” a landmark public art exhibition in which advertising in Times Square is replaced with dedicated art installations.

    Times Square Art Square (TSAS) today announced the appointment of world-renowned curator, editor and critic, Hrag Vartanian, as Chief Curator for the 2013 debut of its landmark “Art Square” public art exhibtion in Times Square.
